About Me!

Yo! What up? My name is Gabe and this is Hair Metal Mixtape! A little bit about me before I get into my show. I was born in Buenos Aires, Argentina and raised in Rutherford, NJ. I’ve been an audio engineer since 1994 and an international touring live sound engineer (A1) and Tour Manager since 2000. I am currently living in Beacon, NY with my wife and son. So for now I’ll live out my childhood dream of being a radio DJ. Who knows what life will bring!

Hair Metal Mixtape! I grew up in the 80’s and 90’s! I like to call it Generation X-Wing! I really enjoy listening to classic Glam, Sleaze, Hair Metal & Hard Rock! Bands like Motley Crüe, Ratt, W.A.S.P., Cinderella, Kiss, Van Halen AND Van Hagar! Slaughter, Winger and Warrant also made their mark on me in the late 80’s & early 90’s! And basically everything that we lovingly group together under the cloud of hair spray we call Hair Metal. A bit sarcastic because of how controversial the term Hair Metal is and how it’s either loved or hated! But we can’t live on nostalgia alone, right? So what I do on HMM is balance the classic with the current by playing my favorite Hair, Glam, Sleaze and Hard Rock from the 80’s, 90’s, 2000’s while mixing in today’s current Hard Rock and New Wave of Glam Metal. That way the old geezers like me who like classic Glam and Heavy Metal can transition our way into The New Wave of Glam/Hair Metal like bands like Crashdiet, Crazy Lixx,Wildstreet (NYC) and tons more!
